Colorado Extends Deadline for Uninsured to Get Covered

Updated: Feb 12, 2021

The state health benefit exchange-- Connect for Health Colorado (Connect)—has extended the deadline for uninsured individuals to obtain full benefit health insurance. “Uninsured” means anyone who does not have a full benefit plan offered by the government or an employer.

“To ensure that Coloradans have the health coverage they need, especially because of the coronavirus (COVID-19), Connect for Health Colorado announced it is extending the Special Enrollment period until Thursday, April 30, 2020. “ [Email notice from Connect to Brokers.]

You must have an application submitted no later than April 30, 2020. Coverage will begin May 1. Tax credits to lower your monthly payments are available for individuals who now estimate their income to be less than $50,000 for 2020. For a couple, the cutoff is $67,000, Cutoff for a family of four is $103,000.
